With an estimated price of $45,000, the Macan is the German automaker’s answer to rivals like the Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes-Benz GLK, BMW X3 and Acura RDX.

2014 Honda Accord Hybrid to Get 47 MPG

When the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid rolls out this October, Honda expects the Accord's resurrected gas/electric variant to get an EPA rating of 49/45/47 mpg (city/highway/combined). The car joins the Accord Plug-in Hybrid, which went on sale in January, and a redesigned Accord that arrived last fall. It's the first Accord Hybrid we've seen since 2007, two Accord generations ago.
The 49 mpg city figure leads the Accord's class, and the combined figure ties the Ford Fusion Hybrid (47/47/47 mpg city/highway/combined). It sails ahead of the Toyota Camry Hybrid (40-41 mpg combined depending on the trim level), Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (37-38 mpg combined depending on trim) and diesel Volkswagen Passat TDI (34-35 mpg combined depending on transmission).
The Accord Hybrid — Honda's first hybrid built in Marysville, Ohio — features unique wheels, a blue grille and headlight accents, LED daytime running lights and a rear spoiler. Under the hood, Honda's hybrid system combines a 124-kW electric motor with a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder to drive in fully electric, gasoline or mixed power. Electric power comes from a lithium-ion battery.
Neither the Chrysler 200, Dodge Avenger nor Subaru Legacy have hybrid or diesel variants. Mazda will unveil a diesel four-cylinder this year for the 2014 Mazda6, but mileage figures are still pending. The Chevrolet Malibu has a mild hybrid system, and the redesigned Nissan Altima has no hybrid or diesel — although Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn hinted in 2012 at plans for a new Altima Hybrid.
Pricing and full features are still pending, but expect the Accord Hybrid to start somewhere between the gasoline Accord Touring's $34,220 asking price and the Accord Plug-in Hybrid's $40,570 (both prices include destination). Honda representatives weren't immediately available for comment, but the automaker's press release says features like Honda's 8-inch i-MID display and leather seats will be "available," so the Accord Hybrid might come in a more affordable base trim that overlaps pricing with the gasoline Accord. When we find out more, we'll let you know.

Porsche 911 Turns 50 unveils 918 Spyder

To mark the 50th anniversary of its legendary 911, Porsche will introduce a special limited-edition model based on the 911 Carrera S at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The German manufacturer will also unveil the 918 Spyder, its new supercar with over 880 horsepower.
This year, the 911 will be more present than ever on Porsche's stand in Frankfurt, Germany, at the very same motor show where it was first introduced in 1963. The manufacturer will showcase a new limited edition 911, one of only 1,963 that will be produced and sold this fall for just over â 120,000 in Europe, or around $125,000 in the US.
The 911 50th Anniversary Edition, which is based on the 911 Carrera S, is equipped with a 400 horsepower motor and all of the German brand's technical know-how: a robotized dual-clutch transmission (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe or PDK), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS) and special 20-inch wheels. The interior features design elements paying homage to the very first 911 models, including dashboard instruments with green labeling and white needles, as well as leather seats with a tartan pattern resembling the fabric used by Porsche in the 1960s.
In terms of performance, Porsche is advertising acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds (4.3 seconds with the robotized dual-clutch transmission) for a top speed of 186 mph. The special edition model

will have a combined-cycle fuel consumption of 25 mpg.
World premiere for the 318 Spyder
The Stuttgart-based manufacturer also plans to make waves in Frankfurt with its 918 Spyder, a hybrid supercar designed to rival models such as the LaFerrari or the McLaren P1. The plug-in hybrid offers a total power of 880 horsepower and an average fuel consumption of just 78 mpg.
The 918 Spyder combines a 4.6 liter V8 engine with 608 horsepower and two electric motors with 116 and 156 horsepower. Drivers can choose between three driving modes: "Race" (for optimal performance), "Sport" and "E-Mode" (for reduced fuel consumption). In terms of performance, Porsche is promising 0 to 62 mph acceleration in under 3 seconds, or in 7 seconds in the all-electric mode.
A hybrid version of the Panamera
The brand's first plug-in hybrid, which has just begun making its way to dealerships, will also be among the models showcased in Frankfurt. The Panamera S E-Hybrid's average fuel consumption is announced at just 3.1L/100km (76 mpg) on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), with CO2 emissions of 71g/km.
Presented earlier this year in Shanghai, the model has a total power of 416 horsepower, including 95 horsepower from its electric motor. The model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 5.5 seconds and of reaching a top speed of 168 mph. The new Panamera S E-Hybrid is currently available in Europe from â 112,309 and in the U.S. from $99,000.

It will say Radio or Access. ALSO trace the red wire from the back of the radio and you will come upon a cocoon type of plastic and open that up and inside is another fuse which is a radio fuse. then the red wire continues to the fuse-box to 8 or higher unless a former owner decided he wanted to bypass the ignition key switch and have the radio running without his keys in the ignition. Then it goes to any fuse that is hot all the time.

 

 

The cluster of fuses is located on the drivers side to the left of the steering wheel. Its the part that gets covered when you shut the door. You can take your key and just pop the cover off and look at the little diagram and it will tell you which is for the radio.
